What I Wore

Welcome back! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy for another week of what I wore!

Outfit #1

I'm trying to figure out different ways to wear my dresses besides just throwing on a cardi - I like how this turned out. The buttondown under the dress with the belt over felt successful. Then, by accident I realized these tights, that I was having problems pairing with anything, went really well with the scarf. Voila! Outfit!

Dress - Loft / Shirt - Croft & Barrow / Scarf - ? / Belt - from another dress / Tights - Hue / Boots - ?

Outfit #2

Another attempt at something a little different - my version of winter pastels. Semi successful. I realized that while I love the idea of this sweater, it drives me crazy because it will not stay on my shoulders, no matter what. It was so annoying!

Cardi - J. Jill / Top - Lauren Conrad / Jeans - J. Jill / Shoes - Anne Klein

Outfit #3

Back to the basics. :)

Top - Lela Rose/Neiman Marcus for Target / Cardi - Target / Jeans - JCP / Shoes - Calvin Klein

Outfit #4

I've honestly been looking for a basic tan cardi for a while now. I ordered one from online a while back and didn't receive it when I got the rest of the order. When I called to check on it, they said they ran out before they could fulfill my order. Sad. Then when I was Christmas shopping, I found this one. There was no sign indicating a sale, but when I checked out - surprise! Happy! And it's a cashmere blend, so double happy!

Cardi - JCP - $14.99 sale from $38.00 / Shirt - Target / Belt - Coach / Jeans - JCP / Shoes - Sam Edelman

Just had to show these up close again. I absolutely love these patent cap toe flats.

Outfit #5

Just hanging out on Sunday. Running errands - third trip to Target in a week! - and making cookies. And, oops, I just realized this was the third day in one week that I wore these same jeans.

Sweater - The Limited / Jeans - JCP / Shoes - Coach

These deserve a little close up (and need some polish!).

That's it for this week. Hope you enjoyed my outfits and I'll see you next week!

What I Wore

Welcome back to What I Wore! I have a seriously fun outfit to share with you along with all of my regular outfits this week! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy, so be sure to head on over there to check out the other bloggers' outfits, too!

Outfit #1

For some reason I always feel Christmas-y when I wear red, even if that's not what I'm going for. And the people I saw this day didn't help since so many of them said I was festive. Ugh.

Wrap Sweater - CAbi / Tank - Target / Necklace - Holiday Mart vendor / Pants - J. Jill / Boots - Nine West

Outfit #2

Usually we dress down a little on Fridays, but I was meeting a new client so I wanted to look nice.

Blouse - Apt. 9 / Blazer - Talbots / Pants - Land's End / Belt - Coach / Shoes - Calvin Klein

Outfit #3

This is the outfit I was so excited to show you! Friday night one of the showrooms we frequent, TOWN, had their fabulous anniversary party. It was especially big and fun this year as they were celebrating 10 years. I originally bought this dress for an event next March (I know, so early!), but decided I had a couple of other events I could wear it to before then and really get my money out of it.
I absolutely LOVE this dress. Stripes, shiny, pleats, pockets! There's a belt, too, but it's a little difficult to see it.

Dress - Eliza J via Nordstrom - $158.00 / Tights - Assets / Shoes - Nine West

Though you can't really see it, I'm wearing this totally fun fascinator. I bought it at the Junior League Holiday Mart this year and decided it would make it's debut at this party. I figured a party filled with design people would appreciate it. And they did! And I wasn't the only girl wearing a fascinator, either. :)

This is the clutch I got especially for this dress. :) I got a ton of compliments on it (and the dress!) and I love it almost as much as the dress. The funny thing is that I got it at Charming Charlie for under $30 and then I saw the exact same clutch in the Nordstrom catalog for almost $50! I love a great deal!

Outfit #4

Hanging out with Michelle outfit. I was still recuperating from the party the previous night and couldn't put an ounce of effort into my hair, so please pardon it.
Something I don't think I've mentioned lately - these are wide calf boots. I have to buy all of my boots from sites like duo.com or widewidths.com because they're specialty wide calf sites. The "wide calf" option regular boot companies offer aren't wide enough for my calves. And a lot of times, regular "wide calf" boots also come with wide feet. My feet are normal, not wide, so those types of boots don't work for me.

Cardi - Boston Proper / Tee - Rebecca Beeson / Jeans - J. Jill / Boots - David Tate

Outfit #5

Back to work! And I'm all about layers lately because it's been absolutely frigid lately!

Sweater - Loft / Tank - Target / Necklace - Charming Charlie / Skirt - Loft / Boots - ? (they're ancient!)

Outfit #6

Though it's Tuesday, the boss is out of town, so I went a little casual in the office.

Top - Anne Klein / Cardi - Apt. 9 / Jeans - JCP / Shoes - Coach

That's all for this week! I'll see you again next week with more outfits!

What I Wore

Welcome back to What I Wore! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy, so be sure to check out the other bloggers' outfits!

I stayed at a friend's house for part of the past week, so some of my photos have a different background. It was difficult to find a place to set my camera at the right height and be able to get far enough away from it, so please pardon all the miscellaneous stuff in the background!

Outfit #1

Cozy and comfortable outfit for the last work day before Thanksgiving, when I had to run around like a mad woman before the showrooms I needed to visit at the Design Center closed early. I got so many compliments on my polka dot pants! :)

Top - Target / Cardi - Target / Pants - Joe Fresh / Shoes - Steve Madden

Outfit #2

This is what I wore to Thanksgiving dinner. My aunts loved my top and my Grandma even complimented my shoes. A compliment from my Grandma is quite a feat!

Top - Darling / Cardi - Target / Pants - Style & Co. / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #3

Lately I only wear my contacts when I'm dressing up a little bit or have a night out planned, but seeing myself without glasses, in this casual outfit on a day when I didn't really do much, makes me want to wear my contacts more often again.

Cardi - Matty M / Tank - Old Navy / Cords - Land's End / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #4

I didn't quite get the makeup applied this day, so I cropped out my head. :) I love this sweater, but it's really only good for slightly nice days when a heavy coat isn't needed because the sleeves are so big they don't fit inside a coat.

Cardi - Leo & Nicole / Tank - Target / Jeans - JCP / Belt - Coach / Shoes - Steve Madden

Outfit #5

Back to work after the long weekend. I had to be dressy onsite again, so this outfit was good for that. But it was crazy windy outside, which was disastrous with this pleated skirt!

Top - H&M / Necklace - Boutique in High Point, NC / Belt - ? / Skirt - Target / Tights - Assets / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #6

I don't know what's going on with my hair here! This was the last nice day before the cold front and I needed to be able to run around the Design Center and have an outfit to take me all the way through the evening and a Junior League meeting I had to speak at. This fit the bill.

Cardi - Matty M / Tank - Old Navy / Necklace - Charming Charlie / Pants - CAbi / Shoes - Nine West

Outfit #7

Hello cold front! It was 3 degrees and snowing, with a wind chill of -5 when I left the house this morning. BRRRRR! So I bundled up. I actually had to borrow this turtleneck. I thought I had one, but I couldn't find it anywhere; it must still be in storage somewhere.

Cardi - CAbi / Belt - ? / Turtleneck - Cabella's / Pants - Stlye & Co. / Boots - David Tate

That's it for now! See you next week!

What I Wore

Welcome back to What I Wore! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy, so be sure to check out the other bloggers' outfits!

Outfit #1

Gotta love Target. :)

Top - Target / Belt - Target / Jeans - Liz Claiborne / Shoes - Sam & Libby for Target

I've been on the lookout for dark red/wine/burgundy heels and found these at Target. They're a bit high, but since I don't wear red shoes that often, I think they'll be okay. And they were half off!

Outfit #2

I think I love this cashmere animal print cardi more this year than I did last year. :)

Cardi - Apt. 9 / Buttondown - Banana Republic / Jeans - Liz Claiborne / Boots - Nine West

Outfit #3

I had to go to a Junior League meeting first thing Saturday morning and I knew I wouldn't be staying in the outfit for too long, so I just wore the same shirt I'd worn the day before. Nobody minded. :)

Cardi - Land's End / Buttondown - Banana Republic / Jeans - Liz Claiborne / Shoes - Cole Haan

Outfit #4

This is what I wore the rest of Saturday. :) Yes, last week I said that I hate leggings, but when I'm just hanging out at home and not seeing anybody, leggings are totally acceptable. (Hi Lulu!)

Sweater - ? via Kohl's / Leggings - J. Jill / Shoes - Steve Madden

Outfit #5

I wore this to go shopping at the Holiday Mart. I wanted to be warm, but didn't want to wear a coat, so this long sweater vest thing worked great.

Sweater - CAbi / Shirt - Target / Belt - Coach / Jeans - J. Jill / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #6

We had an onsite client meeting this day and while usually I wouldn't dress this nicely for an onsite meeting, I decided I needed to dress up a little more because the house is a multi-million dollar historic house and I figured it deserved a nice outfit. :)

Jacket - Classiques Entier / Top - Target / Necklace - Charming Charlie / Pants - Style & Co. / Shoes - Marc Fisher

Outfit #7

Another meeting with the same clients, another dress-up day. I have mixed feelings about this skirt. I really like the style, the color, and the leather waistband, but it is so ridiculously clingy. The lining to my tights, to the skirt. Even spraying it with static guard didn't help.

Top - CAbi / Skirt - Target/ Tights - Assets / Shoes - Coach

That't it for now! See you next week!

What I Wore

Welcome back to another week of what I wore! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy, so be sure to click on over there to check out what the other bloggers are wearing!

Outfit #1

I got this skirt a while ago but decided that the boucle-like houndstooth was best left until the fall. I absolutely love pencil skirts, but they're difficult for me to wear. If they fit my hips, they're huge on my waist. This one isn't the worst ever. I could get it altered, but it really doesn't seem worth it when I paid so little for it.

Top - Semantiks / Skirt - Target - $22.99 / Tights - Assets / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #2

Love me some lace! Especially when it's something I bought a while ago, but still stylish. :)

Top - Daisy Fuentes / Pearl Necklace - gift from my Uncle / Pearl Earrings - Stella & Dot / Pants - Style & Co. / Shoes - Marc Fisher

Outfit #3

I told you I'd wear these pants again, but I didn't go for the riding boots because it was actually a pretty warm day. I'll do the boots another day.

Top - Target / Cardi - Matty M / Necklace - Charming Charlie / Pants - Old Navy / Belt - Coach / Shoes - Steve Madden

Outfit #4

Running some errands on the weekend, perfect time for sequin polka dots. Right? :)

Top - Old Navy - $11.96 sale from $19.94 / Jeans - J. Jill / Shoes - Steve Madden

Outfit #5

This outfit seemed like a complete departure from my usual, but in the picture, it just seems pretty standard for me. I must confess, I fell for the leather legging trend. First, I'm not really a leather pants kind of girl. Sure, I like suede skirts, but leather pants? Not really. Then I'm so not a leggings kind of girl. I actually hate leggings. They are not pants and shouldn't be worn the way 75% of the women wearing them do. BUT, these leggings caught my eye and I decided I needed them. I feel I must defend them. First the (faux) leather is only a panel on the front and second the material is actually much thicker than regular leggings. more like a ponte knit. So to me they feel more like pants than leggings. Plus they were on sale. :)

Sweater - J. Jill / Necklace - Kohl's / Pants - Target - $12.48 sale from $24.99 / Shoes - Marc Fisher

That's all for this week. See you next week for more outfits!

What I Wore

Welcome back to another week of What I Wore! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy, of course!

Outfit #1

This top is from my very first What I Wore Post a year ago! These are another pair of pants I decided needed to be worn one more time before being put away for winter.

Top - Target / Belt - Coach / Pants - J. Crew / Shoes - Marc Fisher

 Outfit #2

I kind of wish I had worn a wide belt over this cardi, but the outfit was so freaking comfortable as is - seriously as comfortable as pajamas! - that I just couldn't put it on.

Cardi - Target / Tank - Old Navy / Skirt - Loft / Shoes - Marc Fisher

Outfit #3

Last spring I determined that I really like the combo of leopard and kelly green, so here it is again.

Cardi - J. Crew / Tee - Loft / Necklace - Kohl's / Belt - Target / Jeans - Lee? / Shoes - Charles David

Outfit #4

And another pair of pants that I wanted to wear one more time. Except I'll probably wear them again because I want to pair them with my black riding boots still.

Cardi - Matty M / Tank - Target / Necklace - Charming Charlie / Belt - Coach / Pants - Old Navy / Shoes - Steve Madden

Outfit #5

I don't think I've worn this shirt for almost two years. I don't know why - I really like the color, it's got fun details (which you can't see very well here), it's silk and cashmere... Hmmm.... No idea why.

Top - Victoria's Secret / Tank - Target / Pants - Old Navy / Shoes - Ann Taylor via STS

These are the second pair of shoes I got at Junior League's Second Time Shop. They looked like they had been worn once. They've got fun little beads and grosgrain ribbon details and only cost $22.00!

Outfit #6

I really think this might become one of my favorite fall outfits! I love the combo of wine and grey! For some reason I've never really like corduroy pants, but these really struck a cord with me. Maybe because they fit like a skinny jean. And I really like the ankle length.

Cardi - Target / Shirt - Croft & Barrow / Pants - Land's End - $44.00 / Shoes - Nine West

That's it for this week! Hope you enjoyed my outfits and I'll see you again next week!

What I Wore

Welcome back to another week of What I Wore! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy, so click on her link on the right to check out the other bloggers' outfits!

Outfit #1

I had originally put this top into storage with all my other spring/summer clothes, but then I saw on outfit on Pinterest that made me want to pull it out and wear it again. So here it is! I also originally planned to return this sweater, but then decided I needed one this color for fall.

Cardi - Old Navy / Top - Lauren Conrad / Pants - Style & Co / Shoes - Coach

I've had these shoes for years, but haven't worn them in quite a while. I need to figure out how to fix the leather creases at the toes because they look really bad. I do still love the suede/leather/ribbon combo!

Outfit #2

Yep, I wore this exact outfit a week or so ago, too. But it's really easy and when I'm having trouble being creative, it's a good go-to outfit.

Top - Old Navy / Tank - Target / Belt - Charming Charlie / Skirt - Bopeau / Shoes - Sam Edelman

Outfit #3

Looking back at this outfit, I wish I would have worn lighter jeans. I think they would look better with the black and white top. Also, I seriously don't think I look like myself when I curl my hair under instead of out. It's weird.

Top - Old Navy - $29.94 / Jeans - JCP / Shoes - Marc Fisher

Outfit #4

I didn't really wear these jeans two days in a row - there was a weekend in between. (Though I didn't take pics of any of those outfits!)

Sweater - Loft / Tank - Old Navy / Jeans - JCP / Shoes - Coach

I got these shoes around the same time as the other Coach shoes, as evidenced by their very similar design. Those are flats and these are heels with a sling back, though. Still totally cute!

That's all I have for this week, folks! I'll see you next week with more outfits!

What I Wore

As promised, I'm on time with my post! :)
I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy, so click on the link over to the right to check out the other bloggers' outfits!

Outfit #1

It's finally really fall around here. The leaves have changed and it's most definitely colder. I had to switch out my closet, which is sometimes like gaining half a new wardrobe. :)
I've had these jeans since the spring, but never wore them. Thankfully, this green color isn't totally unpopular yet.

Top - H&M / Blazer - Talbots / Necklace - Charming Charlie - $15.00 sale from $20.00 / Jeans - Old Navy - $4.47 clearance / Belt - Coach / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #2

I decided I wanted to wear this dress one last time before it was totally out of season. The boots, scarf, and jean jacket helped with the transition.

Dress - J. Crew / Jean Jacket - Gap / Scarf - Target - $16.99 (?) / Boots - Duo

Outfit #3

Love me some leopard. :)

Sweater - Old Navy - $29.94 / Necklace - Stella & Dot / Pants - Style & Co. / Shoes - Charles David

Outfit #4

After work I had a Junior League event, essentially a party, so I wanted to dress up a little, but not too much. These tights helped - it's a little hard to see, but they've got a really fun almost chevron pattern.

Dress - Loft / Cardi - J. Crew / Belt - from a dress / Necklace - Loft / Tights - Target / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #5

Just another work day. Nothing too special to say about this outfit except that I love these grey suede heels. :)

Cardi - Banana Republic / Tank - Target / Pants - CAbi / Shoes - Nine West

Outfit #6

I wore this today to hang out at the hospital while my dad had surgery. I wanted to be comfortable but cute (just in case there were any cute doctors around!). And I wanted to wear these bright blue pants just once more before I retire them for fall and winter.

Cardi - Matty M / Top - Elle / Pants - Liz Claiborne / Shoes - Steve Madden

Hope you enjoyed my outfits! See you next week!
