What I Wore Wednesday

Welcome back to What I Wore Wednesday. I'm linking up with Real Girl Style and The Pleated Poppy, so click on their links to the right to check out the other bloggers' style! (I'm using larger photos this week, hoping for better quality. And I tried out the "color saturation" photo effect to get the colors more accurate.)

Outfit #1

I wore this outfit to work and to the last Junior League General Meeting of the year. Which just happened to be the first GM I've been to this year. As a Sustainer, I didn't need to attend these things, but I was going to be given an award this night and would be recognized as part of next year's Board of Directors. Because I'd be up in front of a crowd (and probably photographed), I wanted to look cute and professional. I think this fit the bill! I also figured out that this top looks good when paired with my pearl necklace (last time I wore it, I couldn't figure out what necklace to wear).

Top - Darling via ASOS / Pearl Necklace - gift from my Uncle / Pearl Earrings - Stella & Dot / Capris - Loft / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #2

I love the pairing of this light peach with white - I felt so feminine! I kind of forgot I had this cardi and then I saw J at J's Everyday Fashion wearing hers and that made me want to pull it out.

Cardi - Loft / Tank - Target / Jeans - J. Jill / Wedges - Sam & Libby for Target - $34.99

Outfit #3

Extremely casual Friday at the office, but we were only there for half a day. I wish you could see this necklace better - it's a small gold disc with an "L" engraved on it. It's cute and delicate and cost practically nothing.

Shirt - Old Navy - $21.99 Sale from $24.94 / Necklace - Charming Charlie - $8.00 / Jean Capris - ANA / Wedges - Target

Outfit #4

I hit some Memorial Day sales in this easy breezy outfit and got some cute stuff that I can't wait to show you all!

Tank - Old Navy / Necklace - Forever 21 / Skirt - Target / Flips - Tory Burch

Outfit #5

I recently saw one of the girls from the Real Girl Style link-up pair her mint pants with navy and white stripes and I loved the combo. Though I already have a navy and white striped t-shirt, when I saw this linen/cotton tank with wide stripes, I decided I needed it! It was perfect for our family's Memorial Day BBQ. Especially when paired with my cute new wedges!

I've been looking at navy sandals for a while now and just couldn't commit to the expensive pairs I was contemplating. I found these this weekend on sale and I think they're super cute. This pretty nail polish color is Essie The Girls Are Out.

Tank - JCP - $13.49 Sale from $20.00 / Capris - J. Jill / Wedges - Candie's - $26.99 Sale from $59.99

Outfit #6

I've really liked the neon trend, but I just don't think I can get away with too much of it. This is as far as I'm willing to go with it right now.

Top - Target / Skirt - Target - $22.99 / Belt - Old Navy - $6.49 Sale from $14.94 / Sandals - Nine West

That's it for this week! Thanks for stopping by!

What I Wore Wednesday

Welcome back to What I Wore Wednesday! I am so excited that it is finally nice in Denver! Sure we have our cool days still, but generally it's been beautiful! It's fabulous to bust out my spring/summer clothes and give them some time in the spotlight. And it's so nice not to have to wear a cardi or a coat every day! I'm linking up with Real Girl Style and the Pleated Poppy, so click on their links on the right menu to check out the other bloggers' style!

Outfit #1

This wasn't the best picture of my outfit this day, but Scotty really cracked me up! He would not leave me alone - crying at the door when he got stuck in the hall, following me back and forth from the camera, jumping up on me. And since he is so difficult to get a picture of anyway (for some reason he's afraid of the camera), I decided to use this pic with him. :)
I've only worn this top once before, and I like it so much more without a cardi over the top. And I think it looks much fancier when it's paired with black pants instead of jeans.

Top - Lela Rose for Neiman Marcus for Target / Pants - Style & Co. / Shoes - Coach

More fun cheap jewelry from Charming Charlie! I was really in need of some "gold" jewelry and I definitely found it! The bow bracelet is the only new one on my arm and the ring has a fun textured top.

Bracelet - Charming Charlie - $8.00 / Ring - Charming Charlie - $8.00

Outfit #2

So, I originally bought this polka dot top to go with my black and off-white striped skirt. But it turns out that even though this is off-white too, it's nowhere near off-white enough to pair with the skirt. It looks like a mistake - like I was trying to match and missed - something I'm always aware of from my work life as an interior designer. But, I really like the top, so I kept it anyway. It's got a cute keyhole back that is tied with a ribbon.

Top - Lauren Conrad via Kohl's - $36.00 / Belt - ? / Skirt - Loft, Thrifted / Shoes - Tahari

Outfit #3

I have a feeling this outfit is going to be in heavy rotation this summer. I just love it! And now that I can wear it with sandals - even better!

I've had these kitten heel slides from Target for years! They cost next to nothing and are some of my absolute favorite simple summer shoes. I have a tan pair, too. I'm shocked they've lasted this long!

Top - Inc via Macy's / Necklace - Forever 21 / Capris - J. Jill / Shoes - Target

Outfit #4

I wore this summery outfit over the weekend when Michelle and I were finally able to get together for drinks and spend some much needed quality time together! I love this eyelet top. I originally tried it on in a fun bright yellow color, trying to spice up my palette a bit, but yellow doesn't really look great on me, so I stuck with white. And I love me some silver flip flops!

Top - Old Navy - $12.99 Sale from $29.94 / Jean Capris - ANA via JCP / Flips - Land's End

Outfit #5

It was a little chilly and rainy this day, so I pulled out this bright sweater. It has a really cute grosgrain ribbon detail down the front.

I paired it with this statement necklace that I've had for a while, but for some reason I've never fallen in love with it. I just can't get the main flower/rosette thing to lay right for any length of time. It started bugging me relentlessly after an hour at work, so off it went. I think I'm going to get rid of it because it just irritates me so much even if it's cute.

Cardi - Boden / Tank - Target / Necklace - Loft / Belt - Coach / Pants - Style & Co / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #6

This silky printed dress is fun. And even though I bought it last year (or the year before), I think it's still on-trend this year! It came with a narrow red belt but I've always liked it better with tan. On a completely off-topic note, I recently saw on Pinterest that you should use baby oil on your legs when you shave because it will make your razors last longer, so I decided to try that. Now, I have no idea if my razor will last longer yet, but the baby oil was a fabulous moisturizer and was really soothing in the areas that I usually get a little razor burn. And it made my legs look nice and shiny in the photo!

Dress - Daisy Fuentes via Kohl's / Belt - Charming Charlie - $10.00 / Shoes - Cole Haan

I hope you enjoyed my outfits this week! I'll see you soon!

What I Wore Wednesday

Welcome back to another week of outfits! Spring has finally hit Denver and I couldn't be more excited about it. Well, really, we might have passed spring completely and gone straight to summer as it's been 85 degrees for two days. But I'll take that over snow right now! I'm linking up with the Pleated Poppy and Real Girl Style so click on their links to the right to see other bloggers style.

Outfit #1

This was the last of the really cool days and in fact it rained all day, so these suede heels were totally the wrong shoes to wear. Thankfully, they didn't get too messed up!

Top - Target / Necklace - ILY Couture / Jeans - J. Jill / Belt - from a dress / Shoes - Nine West

Outfit #2

Okay, so who has heard of Charming Charlie's? I recently learned of this store and went in to look for some cheap jewelry. Talk about a time suck! But I loved it! Seriously, seriously great prices on fun jewelry. Things similar to (though obviously not as high of quality) J. Crew and Stella & Dot. Fabulous! I recently bought this bright coral cardi and wanted some fun jewelry to go with it and this necklace fit the bill, and it came with matching earrings! I've had the lacy tank and navy capris since last spring/summer. I'm surprised the capris fit me, I'd have thought they'd be too big, but they're not, which means they must have been a little tight last year.

Cardi - Old Navy - $15.00 / Tank - Coldwater Creek / Necklace & Earrings - Charming Charlie's - $10.00 / Capris - 212 Collection via Kohl's / Shoes - Nine West

Here's a slightly closer look at the necklace and the lace of the tank. It's really very pretty and delicate. I have to be very careful when I wear it.

Outfit #3

I spent this day very casual - I had to clean my parent's house in anticipation of my sister's surprise visit for Mother's Day. Then take her to my mom's office to surprise her. She was hilarious! Could barely talk and then cried when we walked in. I got it on video, but somehow lost it before I could upload it to youtube. :( I bought this slouchy shirt at the same time as the coral cardi (as well as a few other items) and it is so comfy. I knew it was a little too big, but it was such a great deal, so I just put it in the dryer and hopefully that will shrink it a little bit.

Top - Old Navy - $3.99 Sale from $16.94 / Jean Capris - Ana via JCP / Flips - Tory Burch

Outfit #4

My outfit for Mother's Day dinner with the whole family. Seriously casual, but still totally cute. I wish I had worn my chunky turquoise necklace with this, though.

I actually don't usually like this style of sandals - they're just not the most flattering on my feet, but for some reason I like these that I bought last year.

Tank - Target / Skirt - Bobeau via Nordstrom Rack / Sandals - Dolce Vita

Outfit #5

I bought this dress back in December for a total steal because it was so off-season. I love the pairing of small and big polka dots - they're so much fun. The top is a little big on me but not enough to warrant getting it altered and the skirt is a little less full than I usually like, so (just to be totally honest here!) I'm wearing spanx beneath it. Also, the skirt is unlined while the top is lined - and it would be some much more comfortable if it was all lined the same way. The cotton of the skirt clings a lot, so it could really use something silky beneath it. But overall, I really like it and thought it was generally flattering.

Dress - The Limited - $38.99 Sale from $89.90 / Shoes - Tahari

I adore these peep toe mary janes from Tahari. The heel, the strap, and the cap around the heel are leather while the rest of the shoe is linen. They're super cute, but a little bit high, so I don't wear them all that often.

Hope you liked my outfits this week! See you back here next week!

What I Wore Wednesday

Hi ya'll! I'm back with another week of outfits! And have I got a lot of outfits this time! I'm linking up with Real Girl Style and the Pleated Poppy, so click on their buttons on the right menu to check out the other bloggers outfits!

Outfit #1

I wore this to work and to dinner with my good friend, Robert, who was in town from Arizona. Our weather (snowing, of course!) was not to his liking at all!

Cardi - J. Crew / Belt - from a skirt / Dress - Loft / Tights - Hue / Shoes - Coach

You couldn't see my cute earrings in the outfit picture I chose, so here they are. I love them but don't wear them that often because they're really heavy.

Earrings - Stella & Dot

Outfit #2

Another work day, but I spent a good portion of it saving two runaway dogs. The little dog that I carried around forever really stunk, but I couldn't put her down because I didn't have a leash and I knew she'd get away. After the dogs owners came to get them, I realized the dog stink had stuck to me and nothing I did made it go away. (Seriously - I sprayed myself with Lysol and our fancy air freshener.) :( So now this jacket is at the dry cleaners and I know it will cost me a bundle because of the leather accents that are all over - on the cuff zippers, the pockets, the shoulders... Oh well. No good deed goes unpunished, right?

Jacket - Classiques Entier via Nordstrom / Top - Target - $19.99 / Necklace - Boutique in High Point, NC / Earrings - Stella & Dot / Pants - Style & Co. / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #3

I bought this jacket ages ago to specifically go with these shoes. I really wanted something that was a black and brown combo and this totally fit the bill! Confession time here - I don't know how to sew a button on very well and this jacket needed that done, so until I recently asked my mom to do it for me, it sat unused in my closet for much too long. :)

Jacket - Mac & Jac via Nordstrom / Top - J. Crew / Jeans - Levi's / Belt - Coach / Shoes - Prada

I got these Prada heels at a fabulous consignment store in Las Vegas that I used to frequent when I worked there a lot. The had been worn maybe once or twice and were a fabulous price. These shoes, with their black bows on brown leather were why I needed wanted a black/brown piece of clothing.

Outfit #4

This weekend was Junior League's Board of Directors retreat, so I had to actually get dressed both days. We're pretty casual, but I still wanted to look cute.

Cardi - J. Jill / Top - J. Crew / Jeans - J. Jill / Shoes - Target - $19.99

These ribbon flats are totally cute for spring. I want to get a top that is this bright blue, though, as every aqua top I have is a little too muted.

Outfit #5

Second day of the retreat. I've been looking for a leopard scarf for a while and finally found this one for a really great price.

Scarf - ASOS - 6.99 GBP / Top - Target / Jeans - Levi's / Belt - Coach / Shoes - Steve Madden

Outfit #6

It finally feels like spring here! I bought this dress a couple months ago and it was finally nice enough to bust it out. I got a ton of compliments on it, which is always nice when you spend such a small amount of money on something! I love the mint accents on this black and white dress.

Dress - Worthington via JCP - $30.00 / Shoes - Coach

Outfit #7

This top is the first thing I ever bought from JCP and that was probably two years ago. I hadn't been in that store for like forever, but I was getting a cookie at the mall one day and this was displayed near the entry and caught my eye. I was surprised that a store I associated with old ladies and frumpy-ness had such a cute top, so I ventured in. I've gotten so many compliments on this and it looks just as nice today as it did two years ago - the quality is quite good. Now I'm a convert and try to get to JCP a couple times a year to see what they've got going on.

Top - Worthington via JCP / Belt - Coach / Pants - Apt. 9 via Kohl's - $48.00 / Shoes - Coach

I like pairing these shoes with the belt because they have similar stitching details. Gotta love Coach. :)

Hope you enjoyed my outfits this week - I'll see you again next week!
